THERE'S A FINE LINE BETWEEN LOVE AND HATE AND I DON'T MIND JUST LET ME SAY THAT

{ build } mercury is a small fox, mostly due to his breed, though he is still muscular and agile. he has a somewhat stocky build, though he has the typical lean features of any fox.
{ coat } mercury, true to his name, has a coat like spun silver. it is soft and sleek, though riddled with darker specks. his underbelly and legs are slightly tan, though he can easily conceal this by crouching.
{ eyes } mercury's eyes are a pure grey color, and are striking and cold, though somewhat seductive. his right eye is slightly smaller than the left, though it is not particularly noticeable.
{ other } mercury's ears and muzzle are slightly scarred, though this is normal, considering the number of battles he's been in. he has a slight tear on his right ear as well.

INTELLIGENT - mercury is an intelligent fox. he is a deep thinker, and will work a problem through his mind thoroughly to come up with a solution. he will ponder all the possibilities in a situation and pick the answer most logical, though it may not be the most ethically correct.
MANIPULATING - remember how I said mercury was an intelligent fox? he's also a manipulating one. he will use others to get what he wants, no matter what the cost. he has no real empathy for others, giving him an almost psychopathic personality.
DEDICATED - once mercury sets his mind on something, he never gives up. he is extremely dedicated, and will use almost any means to accomplish a task he has set his heart to, even if it means putting himself in danger in the process.
SERVANT - mercury has narcissistic traits, but he isn't completely selfish. he will go to drastic means to do something for a 'greater good', ultimately making him a servant for whatever purpose he happens to believe is this 'greater good'. for example, he believes he is a strong, persuasive leader- which he is- and that it would be best for vulpine kind if he was to lead them. this gives him an equal balance between a narcissist and a servant.
PERSUASIVE - mercury is rather persuasive. he has an intimidating stare, a blunt determination, and is good at getting what he wants. this makes him rather persuasive, and the fact that he isn't afraid to resort to blackmail or violence to get his way.

{ events } destinae was young when she became marshall's mate, and though she survived the birthing process, the kits were small and weak, and only one survived- a silvery, flecked male whom she named mercury. marshall was the alpha of the novelle troop, and was unable to be around his son often, though he was loyal to destinae and she was a good mother. mercury's kithood was relatively uneventful, though it was not destined to last.
when mercury was six months old, he was assigned to be a warrior, and he spent the next six months of his life defending his troop from any outside danger. he wasn't content to simply be a warrior, however. he wanted to be an alpha. he felt sure his father was not a skilled enough leader to be the had of the troop, though he knew that no one could replace his father as alpha unless marshall died. frustrated, mercury started spreading propaganda about his father, hoping he would be ejected from his position- though it did not work. eventually, mercury cracked. he confronted his father near the troop borders. there was a brief struggle, and marshall was killed. mercury managed to frame it on a passing outsider, and destinae (the alphess) appointed mercury to his father's place.
mercury had been ruling for just a few months when his mother grew suspicious. he was psychopathic, and manipulative, she realized. eventually, she confronted him much as he had confronted marshall, and it was revealed that he killed marshall for the purpose of taking his place as the alpha. mercury then killed destinae, altering the scene to make it look like she had died by accident.
currently, mercury rules as he sees fit. he has been ruling for just under two years now, and is doing the best he can to rule for the good of the troop.
